Things Which Change my 2018
With the end of year, comes the compilation of things which change my 2018. I've done two posts about make up and skincare so let's put them aside and let others shine. Grab your tea and enjoy.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
I am too late to the party, but this book challenges all part of brains which don't get enough financial education. I'm glad to find this book in the early of 2018 since it helps shifting the way I view money throughout the year. This book is published for more than a decade and yet still refreshing, relatable and dummy friendly. My new and I think will be my all time favorite book.
Podcast, Anyone!
I never thought driving and chores will be much enjoyable since I found Podcast! My Polish Sister introduces me to Casey and Candice's Couples Therapy and I'm hooked ever since. Spotify opens the way to Girlboss Radio and I have so many favorites, up to the point when it's hard to pick my utmost favorite. But give your shot to Miranda Kerr, Leandre Medine, Aimee Song, Emily Weiss and Garance Dore's episodes. The Minimalist Podcast also made the cut as one of my most favorite podcast besides the The Goal Digger. If you are completely new to podcast, you should start by listening this.
Life-Changing Female Youtubers!
Influencer career might be over soon or it won't since companies will always look for cheaper advertising alternatives. Whatever your thought about them, there are some girls who taught me the lessons I need throughout 2018. My list is ever growing but I can name five of them, they are Aja Dang, Karin Bohn, Amanda Rach Lee, Winnie Wong and Sadia. Aja taught me about the importance of budgeting, Karin taught me entrepreneurship is a bag of hardwork, Amanda introduced me to bullet journal, Winnie taught me about the basic I need and Sadia guides me to the world of nutrition and peace with her soothing and calming voice.
Budgeting
I start to adopt budgeting to my life this year and it's pretty hard. I don't want to complicate you with too much details but here is the rule of thumb, 30% for fixed expenses, 15 % for self care ( this includes clothes, makeup, skincare), 10% for donation and 5% for food ( which is the hardest to work on) and 40% for saving. I still need a lot to work on my food budget but I never feel so accomplished throughout my life since I started budgeting.
Minimalism
My mom main job is a hoarder and yet having pile of products doesn't make her the happiest person alive. I nearly fall into the same loop by collecting make-up, but I'm happy that I'm out before falling too deep. The process of choosing what make up and clothes to wear every morning is tiresome. To have sort of uniform I can rely on every day and every morning saves my time and energy. I also started a spreadsheet to list down my capsule collection so I won't buy things I don't need.
UNIQLO
Why do I love UNIQLO? because they offer boring life-wear clothes I can use on day on and day off. As I mentioned above, I loathe the process of mix and match because it takes too much brain capacity and I don't need to impress anyone based on the way I dress. Let my clothing be basic and let the bags and shoes speak.
So those are things which change my 2018! Feel Free to share the things that change your life throughout 2018!
