Skincare for Dry Skin

I am sorry for being MIA for weeks as my holiday just started this Monday and I was so busy weeks ago.

Today I am doing a highly requested post about my skincare (update). I didn`t think of doing this kind of post but I have random people and Instagram viewers asking about my skincare routine.

This year, my approach of beauty is investing more at skincare than make-up. I have avoided harsh cleanser which contains SLS for nearly a year as it dries my skin and I started to use serum and toner to hydrate my skin as it`s getting dryer. I also never skip cleaning my face every night and always use sunscreen.

Basically, I am blessed with a good skin, but I also notice that besides doing yoga, limiting sugar and coffee intake alongside dairy, gluten and fried food due to over excessive mucus production do wonder to my skin as I don`t get period acne as often as before.

As I am going to be 25 next year, my big homework besides maintaining the good habits are drinking lots of water, getting enough sleep and investing more in skincare than decorative make-up.

Now, without further ado, I give you a peek of my skincare routine.

Cleansers

The Body Shop Silky Camomile Cleansing Oil, Corine De Farme Micellar Cleansing Foam, Corine De Farme Purity Micellar Water

There are three cleansers that I use on daily basis, Corine De Farme Micellar Cleansing Foam, Corine De Farme Purity Micellar Water and The Body Shop Silky Camomile Cleansing oil.

I start my day by washing my face using Corine de Farme Micellar Cleansing Foam which is a gentle foam based cleanser, I sometimes also use it in the night when I don`t wear too much make-up. As this is a foam based, I notice it can be a little bit drying If I don`t moisturize my skin properly afterward. This is a great subtle cleanser for those with normal to combination skin but as I have super dry skin, I am not going to repurchase this.

To take off my make-up, I usually use Corine De Farme Purity Micellar Water. This baby has been reviewed months ago and I can say I love this over than Bioderma. Should I mention that it`s way cheaper and suit my sensitive skin better ? Another great thing is it is often on sale at Guardian Indonesia ( I just purchased mine today at my local guardian for Rp 151.900)

Last but not least, let me introduce you again and again with the honorable winner of every year since I knew this (The Third bottle), The Body Shop Silky Camomile  Cleansing Oil is a life. As it`s quite pricey here, I use it mainly in the night (not at as I don`t do it all entire night) to take off full coverage foundation and my annoyingly waterproof Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara.

Toner, Serum, Moisturizer and Sunscreen

Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising Toning Lotion, Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal 24H Intense Hydrating Rich Creme, Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Serum, Vitacreme B12 Day Cream Sun Protection

If you are boys and you read this blog just to stalk me, you will come up with a conclusion that I am one of high maintenance girl in term of skincare and yes, I am proud of it. ( Girls, ignore my sarcasm, ignore)

This year, I can say that I found some good stuffs that help me managing my dry skin. The first latest finding is Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising Toning Lotion. I was meh about toner as I didn`t think it`s a necessary step but I was wrong and I am sold with this toner as it is a drink of life for my thirsty skin.

After toner, I continue with the second bottle of Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal Serum. This serum is dope if you have super dry skin. I stopped using it months ago and my skin slowly was back to its thirsty state so I purchased this second bottle.

Other finding about the year is Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal 24H intense Hydrating Rich Creme which moisturize and plump my skin without greasy sensation. I am also a fan of the gel version of this moisturizer.

Last but not least, let me introduce you to Vitacreme B12 Day Cream Sun Protection SPF 30+++ . This sun cream or sunscreen is definitely good as it`s waterproof and also hydrating. It has a weird smell which is gone after few minutes and it doesn`t have a white cast. I also notice that it helps make-up stays longer.

Exfoliation

My Konjac Sponge, The Body Shop Soft Facial Cleansing Sponge, Biore Cleansing Strips Pore Pack, Garnier Oil Clear Self -Heating Sauna Mask

I am late to realize the importance of exfoliation but removing dead skin is a necessity. I am still considering of buying Clarisonic but nowadays, I just use sponge to exfoliate my skin.

There are two sponges that I own, one is from The Body Shop and My Konjac Sponge. Both do wonder to my skin. If you have tighter budget you can purchase the Body Shop one as I notice there is no significant difference between these two, just you need to use cleanser with The Body Shop one.

I am still a loyal fan of Garnier Oil-Clear Self Heating Sauna Mask as it`s cheap and works quite effective in cleaning my pores and also Biore Pore Pack Cleansing Strips to take those whiteheads.

Mask

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is the only overnight mask that I own. I don`t feel that it is a necessity if you already use a serum. Don`t get me wrong, this is not a bad mask, just if you have super dry skin, you can skip this step as serum is enough.

Face Spray

The one and only face spray that I use is Evian Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray. I only use it on days my skin looks super dry after piling tons of make-up or when it`s a bit irritated as this is really great to calm irritated skin. If you are looking for face mist that locking your make-up, you can try ELF Studio Make- Up Mist and Set or invest in Make Up Forever Mist and Fix ( both are in my wishlist)

I hope this post help those who are struggling to combat extreme dryness of your skin. If you are looking for Corine De Farme Range or Evian, check your local Guardian as their products are on sale.

Have a happy week and holiday, love.
