Best of 2017 - Make Up
In a blink of an eye, 2017 is over! So today I am going to give you a brief review of make-up products that I enjoyed the most last year.
Eye
Eyebrow Product: Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil in Dark Grey
This eyebrow pencil is affordable, creamy, and has the right undertone. It stays all day unless I am around my partner of life who keeps rubbing my face.
Eyeliner: Wardah EyeXpert Optimum Hi-Black Liner
This local eyeliner is my go-to! It`s intense, stays put very well throughout the day with minor fading, no smudging, and is affordable! The only downside is it`s glossy, so I am going to hunt for a matte black liquid liner!
I know I am super late to the party, I should have tried Tarte Toasted, Natasha Denona, Naked Heat, or Colourpop Yes Please! but this palette is a new classic as it gets everything you need from an array of nude to red, berries, and orange. No issues with pigmentation and blending though it is not as creamy as Lorac Pro eye shadow.
The Balm Meet Matte Trimony Matte Eyeshadow Palette
This is my very first all matte palette and I love it to bits as it gets everything I need. The texture is a bit gritty and dry but the color payoff is excellent. The only highlight shade which is Matt(e) Lin is a bit chalky but it isn`t a big issue. It stays put all day without fading and though the texture is a bit dry, I don`t have any issues with the application.
Blush on: Last year, I gravitated towards coral and peach blush as the two blushers I pick are pretty similar.
Colourpop The Knockout Pressed Powder Palette
Excuse My French is a matte blush which looks like a burnt peach on the pan but translates to be a bright but wearable neon orange on my skin while Like To Watch is a gold highlighter shade that is wearable on a daily basis as it is not crazy pigmented but buildable and it doesn`t accentuate the texture of your skin. Cheek products rarely stay all day on me but I don`t have any fading issues.
NYX Ombre Blush in Strictly Chic
This coral tone highlighter and blush is beautiful and versatile and I think it will complement light to medium skin tone. It is crazy pigmented so you need to apply it with a very light hand. It stays all day on my skin.
Highlighter: Maybelline Master Strobing Cream in Nude
I use this pink champagne illuminating cream as a highlighter to give a healthy glow on those days when my skin looks dull and dead. I enjoy this product so much but wish it to stay all day.
Primer: Flormar Illuminating Primer Make-Up Base
This affordable primer is a Godsend for a dry skin girl, It doesn`t claim to prolong the wear time of your foundation but it does. It will leave my skin very dewy to almost wet at the end of the day but I am not complaining.
Foundation: Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation in Rose 3
My very first high end foundation provides light to medium coverage. It can cling to dry patches if I apply too much but a little help from my Flormar Illuminating Primer fixes the issue.
Lips
Lipliner: Catrice Long Lasting Lip Pencil 100 Upper Brown Side
The color is just the right shade of nude, it has a great balance of brown, pink, and mauve. The texture is a bit dry but a little balm will smooth out the application.
Local Lip Products: Rollover Reaction in Prudence, Make Over Ultra Hi-Matte in Silhouette (016) and Purbasari in Diamond ( EC81)
Last year was all about brown and orange-based nudes for me. All of these lip products are creamy and comfortable besides affordable. Rollover Reaction in Prudence is a brownish-orange lip cream that can be used as lip cream or cheek cream, Purbasari in Diamond is super affordable and comfortable though the packaging is cheap. Last but not least, Make Over Ultra Hi-Matte in Silhouette is my perfect brown nude, it has stronger brown than pink undertone and is super creamy to the point where it has a tendency to slip but this is my perfect shade of nude.
International Lip Products: NYX Liquid Suede in Soft Spoken, Colourpop Blotted Lips in Candy Floss, Maybelline The Powder Mattes in Touch of Nude.
NYX Liquid Suede is super comfortable on dry lips, I just wish they cater more nudes to their collection because this is the best NYX lip product I have tried so far. Colourpop Blotted Lip is also comfortable and creamy but it reminds me of Glossier`s concept so it is not entirely original and shocking my ground, but it is good if you don't favor super pigmented lipstick. Maybelline can not do wrong with regular bullet lipsticks and this Powder Mattes Lipstick is extremely comfortable though sometimes can be a bit drying.
